Description

The altar server surplice is a classic, comfortable and easy-care white liturgical garment, made in accordance with the tradition of the Roman Catholic Church and intended for altar servers and people who regularly serve at the altar. Its characteristic pressed pleats give it an elegant and neat appearance, while the subtle decoration emphasises the liturgical character of the garment.

Key product features
The model has been designed with an elegant appearance, freedom of movement and comfort during liturgical service in mind.

  • Roman-style altar server surplice with characteristic pressed pleats,
  • white altar server surplice,
  • openwork decoration on the sleeves and at the bottom of the garment, approximately 12 cm high,
  • liturgical motifs of IHS, the cross and wheat ears,
  • available in gabardine (polyester) or cotton-viscose blend,
  • lightweight fabrics with an excellent drape,
  • fabrics with a low tendency to crease,
  • the surplice can be machine washed.

Purpose and use
The altar server surplice is ideal for Holy Mass, services, processions and other church celebrations throughout the liturgical year. It is suitable for altar servers and other people performing liturgical functions at the altar. Its classic cut ensures an elegant appearance both during regular parish service and during feast days and solemn celebrations.

Decoration
A delicate openwork ornament has been placed on the sleeves and at the bottom of the surplice. The decoration features the liturgical motifs of IHS, the cross and wheat ears. The IHS motif refers to the name of Jesus Christ, the cross emphasises the Christian character of the garment, while the wheat ears refer to Eucharistic symbolism. The ornament gives the surplice a liturgical character while maintaining its classic and understated form.

Material
The surplice is available in gabardine (polyester) or a cotton-viscose blend. Gabardine is a practical, durable material resistant to frequent use and retains the shape of the pressed pleats very well. Cotton with viscose is natural, lightweight, pleasant to wear and provides comfort during longer celebrations. Fabrics made from natural fibres are refined, very elegant and breathable, while polyester fabrics are practical materials that enjoy great popularity. All materials drape well, have a low tendency to crease and can be machine washed at temperatures appropriate for the individual fabrics.

Why choose this surplice?
The altar server surplice is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a classic, comfortable and aesthetically made liturgical garment. The combination of pressed pleats, openwork decoration and clear liturgical symbolism gives it an elegant appearance. The choice of material and easy care make the surplice practical both for regular service and for solemn liturgical celebrations.

What can be purchased with the altar server surplice?
The surplice can be complemented with an altar server cassock, altar server skirt, collar or cape in the appropriate liturgical colour, as well as other garments intended for service at the altar. Properly selected accessories make it possible to create a coherent and elegant liturgical set.
